This year Junebug Flowers was invited to participate as a designer in the 2nd Annual Front Street Floral Crawl. Described as a “tour-de-fleur” - local floral designers were partnered with Fishtown businesses to design floral installations on display to the public during Design Philadelphia week. It was a big honor to be amongst such talented designers!
Junebug Flowers’ design inspiration came from feeling like this past year has come “FULL CIRCLE.” It was just last year I volunteered to assist in Maura Rose Events’ installation where I got to meet amazing flower friends that I am still in contact with today! It meant so much that I would be invited this year to be a designer and be able to create my own installation.
Hence, the CIRCLE look that was on display at La Colombe in Fishtown. With chicken wire, clear fishing line, and water tubes, we were able to accomplish this look as if the flowers were on top of the barrels.
A sentimentalist at heart - one of the best parts of the Floral Crawl was the community gathering portion of the day. The organizers of the Floral Crawl, Maura Rose Events and Jig-Bee Flower Farm, also planned a happy hour and flower crawl where floral designers and local flower farmers got to meet and mingle with each other. We were then joined by flower enthusiasts who came out to “crawl” and view the installations along Front Street/Frankford Avenue.
Have you come “full circle” in an aspect of your life? Or are you starting the journey and still figuring it out? Wherever you may be in this continuing journey, I hope you are able to feel a sense of “full circle” completeness / kismet along the way!
